The Happiness Kit

ADVANCE WARNING: I may blog twice today, to make up for the last 2 week :D

So anyways, im at my bests house, and i havnt been here for ABSOLUTLEY ages. havnt been down south in ages either, but i really love it here. I spent they day running errands, with Christie and miss Jackwee, and spent the afternoon doing random things and really not thinking about what we were doing. it was amazing, i got my chance to step out of my shell and do things i never thought i could do. so i wanted to thanks my girls for that :)

BUT the real reason that i wanted to write about... is the happiness box. im sitting here in Christie's room getting ready to blog, and shes searching around her room putting stuff away, when she finds this box. Then suddenly she claims:

"Oh Chels! i have to show you this, it reminded me of your Blog so you have to look at it!"

And so she hands me a box. a little white box, with black and white ribbons on it, and with "Christie" written on the side. I opened it up, slightly confused to be honest, and inside was a little card labeled:

"Happiness Kit"

Then underneath it was written:
- An eraser to make mistakes disappear
- A rubber band to stretch yourself to the limits
- A coin so you never have to say you have no money
- A piece of string to tie things together when they fall apart
- A button to press in case of panic
- Marbles in case you lose yours
and a chocolate to remind you of the sweeter things in life

then underneath it was a little bag with all the things listed.

now, i knew right from the second i saw it that i would have to blog about it. But its only now that i realise the importance of it to me. Sure, its a little box of things that made me laugh and were kinda pretty funny and true, but seriously....

MY BEST FRIENDS DO ALL THESE THINGS.

They forgive me for the mistakes i make.
They push myself to my limits (sometimes a tad bit further)
They have shrapnel for me, just like i do them :)
They ARE the things that are keeping me together when things have fallen apart
They are the ones i do to when i panic.
They're the ones i lost the marbles with... so i suppose they cant really help with that...

And my best friends + chocolate = the sweetest things in life.

:)

Think i'll leave you to ponder that one :)

Double Frees :)

Double frees at my school, whilst we have not really managed the art of studying solidly in silence for the near hour and a half, are my most FAVOURITE times of year 12. Expecially now... My Tuesday frees have ALL of my friends in it.. Claire Bear is blogging after she finished her math, Becc's talking out loud with something to do with Chemisty, Ellens revising for the English exam and Thalia has her headphones in and is doing the same thing.

Matts been floating in and out.. and im saddened to say the packet of doritoes that were meant to get me through this free was gone about 30 minutes ago, and the coke bottle is half empty.

Oh look.. Jonnis just rocked up..

Anyway, Ellen just asked Matt if he ever does any work. And he's just paying me out about my usage of the word floating.

LOL at piggybacks in the downstairs studyroom :)

So yes.. double frees. they are funny. i like how most of the study is spent deciding what homework we're going to do during this free. I like how complete silence is broken because of one random sentence, or one weird noise, or one extra person coming in, and its usually broken with peals of laughter.

I like how silence is then recovered when a teacher walks in.

As much as im going to REGRET saying this, and im only going to say it once, but im going to MISS THIS.

Oh my gosh. i just said im going to miss an element of year 12.

But yes, im going to miss being able to hang out with my friends, stress with my friends, yell at my friends, laugh at my friends, BE WITH MY FRIENDS.

So im going to make the most of it, from now. hence why they all got a mention :)i love them all lots

I am special.

Something that really made me reminice and smile today happened when i was in my car with my sister B. We had spent the last few hours at TTP shopping for my 18th birthday present (I GOT BOOTS!) and we were driving out, when in front of us was a yellow mini cooper. B had always wanted one of them.. her dream car and all that. So i asked "B do you still want one of them?" and she's like "yeah, except i want a red one"

and that got me thinking.. i really really like it when people have their little random things that they want that make them individual. It makes them spontaneous and random and exciting in some ways. Okay i didnt explain that very well. hmm.

Well, for me, i always always ALWAYS wanted a yellow umbrella. always. And yes, i wanted one before that so called How I Met Your Mother episode with it in it... i havent even seen one. I cant explain why i did.. but it was just one of those random Chelsie things. I dont even look good in the colour yellow.. i just wanted to be one of those cool randoms with the cool umbrellas in the rain- yellow amongst all the black ones.

Then one day... My best rocked up to church with one in her hand. a present. FOR ME.

never, ever had i ever been so happy!

So anyways, back to my story. just wanted to make emphasis on the fact that its the small things about one's personality that make them memorable and fasinating. and passionate. like me and my yellow umbrella. and my sister and her cooper.

And i really really wanted to make examples of people.. but i cant think of any. damn it. BUT ANYWAYS.

moral of this post? There are things in everybody that make them special. and i love it :)

Clocks, Chai Lattes, Italian Cousins and Blah Blah Blah

I was fortunate enough to be able to spend my weekend with possibly two of the greatest people in the world.. my darlings Loz and Christ I. Starting from Saturday afternoon, in which Christie and I decided to surprise Lauren with my presence (i wasnt meant to be going to the party we were headed too... but a last minute change of plans made this all possible), and then headed to tea then the party. Armed with a mix CD, Penny the Pulsar, lots of attitude and big smiles... we set off to have the party of our lives..

At Christie's dads 50th. MAN we party hard!

So we went there. Stopping for Chai Lattes on the way. But it didnt matter what we were doing, how grumpy one of us were, or how BORED we could have been.. it was still amazing. Even when Lauren had her cold, i nearly got hypothermia and Christie had to deal with the family, it was still an amazing night. it was even amazing the next morning.. a random trip in our pyjamas to go and visit our darling Scotty at Maccas (Scott? I publically say sorry for getting you into trouble.. even though it was YOU who used your head set to tell the mccafe staff to tell us that you finish at 2).

:)

But anyways... i had a fabulous weeked. And just on that note.. i came across this picture and have something further to add:

You see, this is me and my Girls. because, they DO live miles apart from me. Christie? According to Google maps, your 39.2kms away, which is 1. 18 mins (only takes ME an hour... hmm controversy!) And Lauren? You live 43.3 kms away. which is suppose to be 1.28 hours away.

My best friends live over an hour away.

I dont go to school with them. i cant see them everytime i want to, especially with all 3 of us in year 12. i cant have a bad day, and call them up and they cant say "be there in 2 mins, we'll be right over". I cant do that, and i have to handle that. Buts its OKAY.

Because as the picture puts it.. it doesnt matter how far apart we are they are still in my heart. I just thank God for free txts and calls :) :)

I love them. and i encourage all you who are reading this to look at your best friends.. and really really appreciate every moment that you get to spend with them. i know for me, these 2 have the ability to turn my shitty moment into a good one :)

Pondering

Over the last few days, whilst i have not been blogging.. i have been talking about my blog to people. Firstly, my parents. whilst they did NOT like the idea, i gradually convinved them that i have NOT put my last name on here, my address or my bank details on here so its AOK. And as i said to mum.. its not like many people read it anyway.

WELL. i was wrong. over the last 3 days i have had about 7 different conversations about people saying they read this and liked it... in 3 days! one even said she had it bookmarked (love you Nat), which actually made my day. It really did. It means something to me.. ive only been writing in this thingo for a short amount of time, and at the moment have a total number of FOUR followers... but at least my words are getting out there.

Hmm.. so yeah, this blog post is really going NOWHERE, but oh well. My head is a mess- and blogging makes me happy so lets just take that lead and run with it!

i was totally going to finish this post right here- but then i found this picture:

i found it on

weheartit.com

and it actually puts a lot of things in perspective for me. i've said it once. i've said it again. i've said it over 3 times, probably- but happiness isnt something that you just get GIVEN. its not like God sits up there and goes: Chels, you're sitting there miserably and are not doing anything about and but ITS OKAY! IM GOING TO MAKE LIVE AMAZING FOR YOU AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IT SIT THERE!"

well, he may do that.

Buuuut im pretty sure that a lot of the happiness in todays society is fuelled by ourselves- i'll CHOOSE to think positive. i CHOOSE to do this coz i know it'll make me happy. i CHOOSE to hang out with my bests tonight coz they will bring a smile to my face.

and right now, im choosing to curl my hair just coz i am.

I think thats enough of a mental explosion for one day :) love

I want this to be me. Yep. Down to the pink suitcase.
TRAVELLING makes me happy.. it really does.

at this point in time, im in the process of planning 3 trips for over the next year, and im SUPER duper excited. the first one being this weekend. Me and a few of my favourite girlies are heading south for the long weekend.. such a nice way to be free of the stress! its all very exciting.. not really looking forward to the 2 hour drive there myself, but thats okay.

Next trip? Sydney. With the best :) its always been my dream to be under the bridge for new years- end of year 12, i'll be 18, legal and free. Should be a moment to remember :) only problem is.. the planning for this has somewhat come to a stand still. silly accomodation place.. should get all figured out. then we have to book the flights! and SAVE SAVE SAVE.. the dfos really have no idea what will hit them!

Third trip :) mighty Queensland. with the bests again! this one'll be good.. hitting up the theme parks before uni starts.

Im really looking forward to it all. Looking forward to packing up my books and my paper and just getting away. Living my life as appose to simply spending it at school. i want to get away, and learn and experience things, without having other things in the way.

Like the great philosopher Simba once said, "oh i just cant wait to be (free)"

okay maybe he didnt say that EXACTLY, but its pretty close.
i should start saving and stop spending...

FAST FACT: Maccas is a lovely place to study

Tonight i played taxi and took B took one of her friends houses, which wouldnt have normally been a problem, except i have a math exam in which i have to study for (less then a week away.. oh goodness me!). So what did i do? i decided to pack up all my math stuff, a bottle of water, my wallet (with shrapnel) and B's ipod and then head to...

Yep. Maccas.

In my defence, it was the only place that was open that was close to B's friends place- she was only gonna be an hour so it was POINTLESS me driving the 15 minutes home only to turn around and go back again.

So, there i am in maccas. i had ordered by frozen coke (caffine?) and was sitting down over viewing the entire semesters work. And im by myself. No distractions, apart from the replay of the crows game i'd already seen, no internet, no bed to lie down on, no movies to watch.

Nothing, except me and my math stuff, and the girl cleaning table.

Side note- she was actually quite lovely. she came and picked up my rubbish, and then asked waht i was doing. which i told her. then when i left and said thanks you, she said good luck. what a nice girl :)

So yes, i have made a discovery.

maccas IS actually a good place to study. If you are alone :)
